Thompson Custom Homes Team
I would like to take the time to introduce you to the Thompson Custom Homes team. We are a diverse group that comes together to form a strong team with a wide range of knowledge and experience.
I am the President and wear many hats in the company; I am in charge of sales, marketing, production, customer service, and also oversee all aspects of construction. I visit all jobsites at least three times a week to review their progress with each builder. I also meet with homeowners at their jobsites weekly to explain the home’s progress, help with selections and to answer any questions or concerns they might have. I am always available by cellular phone.
Barbara Scott is our other finish builder; she has over 34 years of experience in custom home building in the Houston area and she is an encyclopedia of knowledge. Barbara was previously with Parker House builders for over 13 years. She has a degree from the University of South Alabama.
Erin Day is the company’s Controller. She has worked in the construction industry for the past 10 years. Erin is also responsible for the marketing and day to day operations of the business. She has a degree from the University of Houston.
Tanna Jones is the office coordinator. She handles customer service and accounts payable. She has been working in the construction industry for the past 7 years, previously working for an electrical contractor. Tanna is attending the University of Houston pursuing a degree in business.
Will Smith also takes the house from foundation to completion. He has over 10 years of experience in the construction industry. Will has worked on semi-custom and custom homes for the last 8 years. He is passionate about building homes and has an eye for detail. He has a degree from HBU in Administration and Marketing.
Kurt Berkes is an accomplished senior level construction and development professional. He studied at Sam Houston State University, and is result — oriented, with 12 years of experience in all facets of the industry. Kurt holds a verifiable track record for the successful completion of residential and commercial projects. He is skilled in coordinating trades, developing partnerships and building positive rapport with architects, engineers, local officials, vendors and clients.
John Niederhofer has seven years of experience managing residential construction and land development projects, mostly focusing on custom homes and luxury townhomes in and around the Houston area. He holds an undergraduate and a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University.
Jorge Medina and Lary Harp are our full time warranty specialists. They both have over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Jorge and Larry are true "jack of all trades" with a working knowledge of all aspects of construction including carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing.
We also have three full time clean-up/punch-out employees that work to keep our jobsites clean and assist our builders in creating a great product.
I have assembled a great team of enthusiastic members that enjoy what they do. The real nuts and bolts of our operation rest in the hands of our craftsman. Almost all of our craftsmen have been with us for five years or more. Our painter and our trim carpenter alone have been with us for over 11 years.
The wide range of knowledge and experience each of our team members bring to the table enables us to develop solid relationships with our homeowners that continue well past the completion of their dream home. On three occasions we have had the privilege to build a second larger home for some of our previous clients. I believe we are a boutique builder that is able to create a truly unique custom home through open communication and long lasting relationships with our homeowners.
